A Consolation
There was something
around twilight: a
consolation of trees.
We moved through the air
seeking comfort. That
old oak dropped
its helicopters at our feet.
We were in debate about
a stability of sound –
could there be one?
We moved through
the spiked grove. Surely
bees nestled there
without our prior consent.
That helicopter, falling
became our reference for light.
