David Baptiste Chirot

A cryptic tryptich

Your life that goes by,
That flows

Unbalanced, strange—
Ephemeral—

Shadow,

who dresses in shadow

Not knowing mourning,
Nor who I am

No one whispers death—
No one even knows—

Knows no one
that I am—
even I

***

Happenings never happening,
Names changed in secret

Time—
Of the shadow partner

That goes by, that flows—
Actions odd, that unfold—

Whisper in mystery,
Torture torturers' twins

Time—
Of the empty room

Disfiguring depths,
Distant scars—

***

Zero moments,
Illustrating a mouth—
Opening
An O

Eyes drawing lines
Calm a heavy sky

Aerial poems
Photographing a hand
Inventing
A day

Time—
Of the lucid eyes

Deciphering dust,
Dimming names—

Encrypting lives—
Interpreting a death,

Detecting
A birth

Time, your life—
That goes by,
That flows

Shadows, lines—
That draw eyes,
That lift

Time—
Of the eye drawn skies

That flow—
