Michael David Conduit is a British (and a bit Turkish) natural history illustration graduate who mainly works in ink and clay. He is currently based in Bulgaria where he is investigating the theme of women along the ‘imaginary border of the Orient.’ His inspiration comes from the women struggling against harsh physical and social environments, such as in the villages of the mountainous steppes of Central Anatolia and the flat arid desert landscapes of the Arabian ‘empty quarter.’ He has exhibited in the United Kingdom, Turkey and the United Arab Emirates.
