Thomas Fink & Maya Diablo Mason

I CAN SEE WHY KIDS DON’T BRING THEIR PARENTS HERE

The policeman declared your art
illegal. Who wants a nipple
or a green moustache dangling over
their fireplace? Any purchaser

of fat portraits gets ethically
anorexic. Bodily
hairs are kept freshest

undiscussed. Some remain
in naked bathrobe
or confound the wedding
gown with a birthday tux.

THANKS, MARY

Times are gruff.

The Virgin lent
her turkey baster.

After birthing triplets in the Laundromat,

one selects
two, at most.

Thanks, Mary.

When you rip the cord out of the wall,
the machine

continues.
