Marcus Liljedahl
CORE OF LIGHTNESS
dreaming (my life) the crevice in an ancient vault widens
empty rooms anchored in a mirage of blue bells
between distance and closeness the language of birds
lighthouse leaving a hole of illumination
stone angels sweet oblivion dripping from their lips
as a blank slate I stagger (and fall) into the white sun
Marcus Liljedahl was born in the town of Malmö, Sweden, 1972. He has been working as an opera singer at The Gothenburg Opera since 1998. His poetry has appeared in Modern Haiku, Frogpond, The Heron’s Nest, Chrysanthemum, Bones, Under The Basho, Bottle Rockets and others. He is the initiator of The Haiku Vortex, a Facebook group for experimental, avant-garde haiku.
