Because Blue
is the coloric symbol of sadness, I have
trained my mind blind to its hues. Focus
on solar streaks of sun, not smothering
blanket of sky. Lash the stark bubbles
of breaking waves, not silent
stretches of open sea. Selective perspective
is the rainbow-bricked road to sappy, happy, half-
full optimistic blessings. My favorite
shade of bliss.
Butterfly in Bullet
cocoon glints like silver, cracks. The moon
beams spotlight, center stage, emerging
becomes spectacle, all neon colors fluttering
against surrounding night. Breeze begins
training. Ritual
of flight stutters
stumbles, then shoots
upward, toward the stars, as if fate had written it there.
